Modelling
Unlike a CAD model that defines geometry, a numerical model is made up of simplified geometry allowing the creation of a suitable mesh in order to consider all the physics phenomena at the desired scale. This decomposition makes the finite element method (FEM) possible for the computation.
Simulation
Once the modelisation is established with geometry, mesh and definition of Physics, it is then possible to compute the numerical model and to obtain the results for the physical quantities needed:
